At some occasion, former major league pitcher John Rocker said he failed a drug test in 2000, and that baseball commissioner Bug Selig knew it. John said that doctors of the Players Association, as well as other Texas Rangers teammates, had warned him on how to use steroids efficiently.

He affirmed that between 40% - 50% of baseball players used steroids and that in 2000 Bud Seling knew John Rocker was on it too. In an interview, Rocker talked about steroids and said that he thought that at least 10% of big leaguers were involved with such substances. He said that the "steroids" topic was a lot of "propaganda". But the same day in another forum, he said that he was presented in response of the Mitchell report and said to the report's author, former Sen. George Mitchell, too, that Selig was attempting to "pass the buck" for things he knew.

These situations are quite strange. On first place there's a dead time (months) between the Mitchell Report and the statements of John Rocker about his use of steroids. That makes you wonder, why did he wait so long to talk about this?

The truth is that the Mitchell Report had Rocker's name in it, but not that much. In the report, there is a quote that says: "according to the Applied Pharmacy Services database, former pitcher John Rocker received two prescriptions for the human growth hormone (Somatropin) between April and July 2003." At first he refused these allegations but then he said: I was prescribed them in connection for shoulder surgery.

The problem here is that John talks too much about one thing and another. He said "I think this and I think that", but he waited so long to say that he used steroids, and when he finally did it, he declared that he used HGH, too! So many people believe that this excessive talk was just a way to get some publicity and make some money.
